It’s full steam ahead for this once a year special access weekend for railroad fans and history buffs! Events begin Saturday with a Step Back in Time Tour at 3:30. Then a social at 5:30, followed by presentation and book signing by authors Leonard Merrit and Alfred Mullett (yep, they wrote the books on the SVRR!) with Prime Rib dinner and lots of conversation. On Sunday, we head out to “the yard” in Sumpter for a private tour. Ride along on a the “season test run”; shovel coal, blow the horn—you know, just generally get dirty and have fun ! $68 per person, $35 tax deductible, because that goes to the non profit org, plus you’ll recieve an annual membership as a Friend of the Sumpter Valley Railroad! Kids under 16 can join the fun without membership (no host dinner), up to one per Adult.
