Sumpter Valley Railway Weekend

It’s full steam ahead for this once a year special access weekend for railroad fans and history buffs! Events begin Saturday with a Step Back in Time Tour at 3:30. Then a social at 5:30, followed by Presentations and book signing at 5:30 and 6:30 by authors Leonard Merritt and Alfred Mullett (yep, they wrote the books on the SVRR!) 7:30 Prime Rib dinner and lots of conversation. On Sunday, we head out to “the yard” in Sumpter for a private tour. Ride along on a the “season test run”; pitch wood, blow the whistle, ring the bell—you know, just generally get dirty and have fun ! $68 per person, $35 tax deductible, because that goes to the non profit org, plus you’ll recieve an annual membership as a Friend of the Sumpter Valley Railroad! Kids under 16 can join the fun without membership (no host dinner), up to one per Adult.

We’re closing off Main Street for a big Trick or Treat Party 4-6pm; all ages can join in the stroll; or just watch the show from the Saloon, while you enjoy Happy Hour treats! Scavenger contest follows 7-9pm; the more you know about the Geiser and Baker City history, and the “ghosties”, the better your chance to win great prizes.
