The Geiser Grand Hotel is proud to host a PowerPoint presentation on the making of “Dielman’s Monarch,” an OPB program aired earlier this month on “Oregon Field Guide.” Gary Dielman, who last summer led an OPB crew to film an ancient limber pine he discovered in the Eagle Cap Wilderness, will show slides of the crew in action, plus many slides of the tree and the beautiful vistas high in the Wilderness. The presentation will also feature two other local participants in last summer’s expedition, Victoria Rockwell and Jenifer Ferriel, who represented the U.S. Forest Service, tree-ring expert Dr. Evan Larson of the University of Wisconsin, and Mark Haller and his mule train from the Cornucopia pack station.
The presentation on Tuesday, March 2 is free and open to the public. Social Hour at 5:30, presentation begins at 6pm. Full food and beverage service is available. For those wishing to have dinner, the Geiser Grand Hotel is offering two dinner specials, Brandy Mushroom Chicken with Rice Pilaf and Swiss Steak with Smashed Potatoes, both with fresh vegetables just $9.99.
