Colonel Baker Join in a lively discussion of Civil War history with focus on Colonel Edward Dickinson Baker. Presentations include noted California historian Andrea Ingraham. Registration $20, discounted to $10 for members of California or Oregon Historical Society, Preservation Idaho, Baker County Historic Society, Historic Baker City, Inc., Baker County Chamber, National Trust for Historic Preservation, as well as any Civil War Historic non profit group.

Colonel Baker’s Ball The highlight of the weekend! Enjoy lively fiddle playing of civil war and other nineteenth century tunes; dance on the parquet floor. Dinner will feature authentic historic cuisine using famed Chef Escoffier’s recipes. This relaxed five course dinner will transport you back to a time when food, wine and conversation were relished, and savored slowly. We’ll toast the namesake of Baker City and County, President Lincoln’s good friend Edward Dickinson Baker.

$60 per person includes a glass of wine. Advance tickets a must. Nineteenth century costumes encouraged. Dress military uniforms, long gowns, tuxedos or jacket&tie are also appropriate. With appreciation to the “Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War” and Greg Leo.
